SNICKERDOODLES From the recipe box of travel writer Carole Terwilliger Meyers. Follow her Travels With Carole blog.
These are lots of fun to make with young children, who are usually well skilled at rolling the dough into balls.
1 stick butter, soft ½ cup Crisco Cream.
1 ½ cup sugar Add a little at a time, beating until fluffy.
2 eggs Beat in one at a time.
1 tsp. vanilla 2¾ cup flour 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda ½ tsp. salt Stir in. Chill 1 hour.
Roll heaping teaspoons of dough into balls. 3 Tbl. sugar 1 Tbl. cinnamon Mix in a small bowl. Roll balls in mix and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
400 degrees, 10 minutes.
